Based out of Eau Claire\, Wisconsin\, this unique 5-piece consists of university students and friends: Hannah Durham (Vocals)\, Jake Shockman (Winds)\, Zach Luginbill (Keys)\, Fletcher Myhre (Percussion)\, and Esme Olstadt (Bass). Combining their individuality with their shared love of jazz\, improvisation\, and creation\, the quintet is bringing their skills and sounds to the downtown Eau Claire area this summer. Taking inspiration from multiple eras and styles\, as well as from one another\, the group has a little something for everyone to enjoy. And while they’ll be looking back to pay homage to the greats that laid the foundations for jazz music\, HINDSIGHT is focused on the bright future ahead of them!

SUMMARY:LIVE MUSIC: Jim Pullman
DESCRIPTION:While his emotions have always been at the core of his songwriting\, Jim Pullman’s newest album\, Go On Boldly\, brings an honesty that reaches into experiences of hope\, loss\, and renewal resulting in the most raw and revealing musical effort of his career. This set of songs examines issues of mortality\, survival\, and celebration in ways that are both personal and universal. The loss of his mother-in-law (someone very dear to Pullman’s heart) shook him deeply as did seeing his wife deal with her passing. The experience brought songs to the surface to honor his mother-in-law\, songs to help the family make it through\, and songs to recall better times. \nThe album was recorded at Pullman’s home in Eau Claire\, WI\, August through November 2020\, with the help of longtime friend and musical confidant\, Todd Barneson. Barneson was an integral part of the album\, providing engineering and mixing as well as playing bass\, acoustic & electric guitars\, and synth\, and also sang backing vocals. Also contributing to the album was Adam Harder Nussbaum on the drums and Paul Brandt\, who played upright piano and synth tracks. Jim’s wife Donna also contributed with backing vocals

DESCRIPTION:Vocalist Kat Sherman has been on the Eau Claire music scene for more than two decades\, performing in a wide variety of styles and venues\, and maintaining an active teaching studio in piano and voice. Having formed the successful jazz trio\, Kat and the Hats\, she continues her exploration of the jazz idiom in a duo with Paul Hecht. \nPaul Hecht brings a wide musical curiosity and a commitment to jazz traditions in the piano/keyboard trio format. Hecht trained with musicians from Detroit and Chicago and now divides his time between Chicago and Eau Claire.

DESCRIPTION:Anthony Deutsch is a pianist/vocalist keen on improvisation. Calling upon all genres and influences\, he simply loves performing what is in his heart. From jubilated gospel melodies over tripped-out piano\, to Duke Ellington and jazz standards at large\, to the Beatles\, Dolly Parton\, Son House\, his music travels great distances! Currently\, Anthony resides in Wisconsin’s central Driftless Region after a decade long stint in Milwaukee mainly as a jazz pianist where he continues to visit to play as a soloist\, with his piano trio\, and other projects – including Father Sky (Heart-song medicine music for the masses)\, W!TH (future-pop duo) and Fraktal Frank (experimental/production moniker).
