A 2021 compilation of seven of Mario’s songs arranged for Big Band Jazz in Janet Planet’s “Under the Venus Moon” was recognized on the Grammy Ballot 2021 under the category Best Vocal Jazz Album // Mario was produced and published by Buzz Cason\, Creative Workshop Studio\, Nashville\, TN and signed to Universal Records in 1971 as a member of White Duck\, Jimmy Buffet’s first Coral Reefer Band\, along with legendary Americana artist John Hiatt. Sherry is a lifelong music educator and church music director. Mario and Sherry are joined by musicians Will DeBlaey on acoustic bass and Rose Mish on violin\, filling out our quartet and contributing to our authentic Americana sound.

DESCRIPTION:Shannon and Jason Gilmore’s musical journey commenced in 2000\, as they shared the stage with The Old Dog Band in Colorado Springs. Their onstage synergy\, Shannon lending her vocals and Jason playing the guitar and mandolin\, laid the foundation for a lasting friendship. Despite Shannon’s departure to her home state of California in 2005\, their bond endured. Meanwhile\, Jason continued shaping his musical path\, contributing his talents to various bands in the Colorado Springs area like Creating a Newsense\, The J.Miller Band\, and Woodshed Red.\nFast forward to 2016\, an opportunity drew Shannon back to Colorado Springs\, rekindling her involvement in the local music scene while owning Rocks Sports Bar & Grill. After more than a decade\, Shannon and Jason seamlessly reconnected\, resurrecting their musical collaboration. Their repertoire expanded across diverse genres—blues\, folk\, rock\, bluegrass\, country\, reggae\, soul\, funk\, and more.\nThe magnetic connection and friendship between Shannon and Jason gradually evolved\, leading to the inception of The Gilmore Family Band in November 2019. Their musical endeavors saw them joining forces with prominent Colorado musicians and\, in 2020\, welcoming John Wise on Bass and Teddy Nazario on Drums\, both esteemed members of the renowned Colorado band\, TRIBE\, solidifying the band’s foundation.\nAfter an incredible two-plus decades of creating musical memories in Colorado\, The Gilmore Family has moved to the driftless plains of Wisconsin. They are gearing up to launch their first album\, “MESS THAT WE MADE\,”  to be released December 23\, 2023. This relocation offers a fresh beginning\, new prospects\, and the joy of being nearer to family. It’s yet another unexpected twist in The Gilmore Family’s musical journey.

Tyler is involved with a variety of musical projects around the Chippewa Valley including his own quintet the Tyler Lustek Confluence\, avant-garde jazz duet Lustek / Granros\, piano/cello duet Duo Vivace\, and the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra. Tyler is also co-director of the jazz combo program at UW-Eau Claire\, and teaches weekly improvisation workshops at Chippewa Falls High School.

The Love Never Stops Tour offers an alternative: showcasing musicians and writers on the trials and triumphs of love. As artists alternate between songs and spoken word stories\, the show will unfold with a variety of styles and genres. Enjoy this unique evening exploring love’s struggles and the hope it holds to help us through the cold winter nights. Eau Claire’s Writer-in-Residence Ken Szymanski will host the event\, which will also feature stories by Kaia Simon\, Andy Patrie\, Lindsey Brandrup\, Eric Rasmussen\, Rosemary Gosseck-McNeal\, Dan Lyksett\, and Emily Kassera. Music by singer-songwriters Derick Black and Scotty Hayden. \n\nKen’s Bio: \nKen Szymanski is Eau Claire’s 2020-2024 Writer-in-Residence. He’s the author of Home Field Advantage and Sit Down and Stay Awhile: My Aunt Lil\, a Small-Town Bar\, and a Lifetime of Polkas. His writing has appeared in Volume One\, The Good Life Review\, and on Wisconsin Public Radio’s “Wisconsin Life.” He has organized several “literary concerts” in Eau Claire\, and for The Love Never Stops Tour\, he has assembled a mix of new voices and seasoned veterans to create a compelling combination of live music and storytelling. DESCRIPTION:Cathy (Otterson) Herndon has the unique ability to please audiences anywhere with her crystal-clear voice and refined touch at the piano. Cathy grew up in Strum\, Wisconsin where she learned to play several instruments as a child. During high school she was a member of the acclaimed musical group\, THE KIDS FROM WISCONSIN. After earning her degree in music on saxophone and clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire\, she spent several years as a professional woodwind player. While working as a saxophonist on a cruise ship\, she began singing in public for the first time. The sure phrasing and improvisational skills developed during her saxophone years can be heard in her singing today. Since beginning her solo career\, Cathy has been an innovator. Her tasteful addition of the synthesizer to the traditional solo piano sound must be heard to be believed. Countless times listeners in the next room have assumed they are hearing an elegant trio. They are always amazed when they find that it’s one person making so much beautiful music. After moving to the New York area in 1989\, Cathy became a prolific songwriter. Throughout her career\, many of Cathy’s fans request her original songs that are beautifully performed on her CD called\, FOR YOU MY LOVE\, nearly as often as the other great music she performs. Cathy’s talents have taken her to several corners of the world. For nearly two decades\, Cathy performed at the Rihga Royal Hotel and the Ritz Carlton-Battery Park in New York City. These experiences\, along with thousands of hours at the piano singing to discriminating audiences\, have molded her into a world class artist. Whether performing jazz\, Gershwin\, Porter\, Broadway favorites\, or the finest music of today\, Cathy has a graceful way of touching her audience\, leaving them with the feeling they’ve made a new friend.
