DESCRIPTION:Returning to The Lakely Patio is everyone’s favorite patio performance\, dubbed Fireside Tunes\, is meant to capture the essence of some of our most-loved experiences – spending the evening outside on The Patio with folks we care about\, listening to live music in a down-to-earth\, low-key (but high-vibe) atmosphere\, sipping craft drinks\, and sharing a love of music – all around our stone-cut fire pits. \nCome and enjoy an inspiring performance of original music with Songa. Singer/Songwriters and lifelong musicians Mario and Sherry Friedel will take you on a journey with their unique instrumental sound and soothing vocal blend. Their newest EP\, released in 2022\, Sunshine in the Rain\, includes songs of hope and resilience with a message of love. Their 2020 Nashville produced album\, Dreams Are in the Making\, shows Songa’s true Americana artistry\, with authentic songs in the folk\, blues and country genres\, mixed in with folk-grass and Latin jazz for variety. \nMulti-instrumentalists playing guitar\, banjo\, ukulele\, harmonica\, melodica and percussion\, these artists will take you from folk to country\, bluegrass to blues to Latin jazz and back again. Rooted in the Nashville songwriting tradition\, you won’t want to miss their honest lyrics and pure vocal harmonies. Songa was a finalist in the 2020 and 2022 Great River Folk Festival Songwriting Contests and voted the “fan favorite” in 2020. A 2021 compilation of 7 of Mario’s songs arranged by Tom Washatka (Steel Moon Records) for Big Band Jazz in Janet Planet’s “Under the Venus Moon” was recognized on the Grammy Ballot 2021 under the category Best Vocal Jazz Album. \nMario\, originally from Fond du Lac\, was produced and published by Buzz Cason\, Creative Workshop Studio\, Nashville\, TN and signed to Universal Records in 1971 as a member of White Duck\, Jimmy Buffet’s first Coral Reefer Band\, alongside legendary Americana artist John Hiatt. Sherry is a lifelong music educator and church music director.  \nAt Fireside Tunes\, you can expect an emotive musical experience of local\, regional\, and occasionally touring artists with a strong lean towards acoustic\, folk\, and Americana styles. Fireside Tunes offers listeners a well-rounded sound\, with occasional notes of indie\, rock\, and other musical genres. \nFireside Tunes is held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and autumn on The Lakely Patio from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. The Swongos are influenced by traditional surf music like Dick Dale and the Ventures but also groups such as the Pixies\, and Los Cubanos Postizos. SUMMARY:Live On The Lakely Stage: A Visual & Auditory Experience
DESCRIPTION:The Evening of May 27th will be the pilot series of a vision for A/V artists to come together\, share through improvisation and weave a way for new/old expressions of color and frequency to be experienced and harnessed for the greater good. The evening will begin promptly at 5 pm with performances by 3 unique groups / 8 individual artists. Each group will have their own performance with short intervals of collaboration\, culminating with a final performance of combined cohesion. There will be many ways to donate to the EC school foundation available leading up to and throughout the event. \nPlease expect the experience to include: \nSynthesis (Visual/Modular) – Within this endless format of expression we will investigate the relationship of sound and sight or expose the differences that are created between them. We will wade through sweet and inviting harmonies while dancing on the edge of chaotic and unexpected happenings for our ears and eyes. Through improvisation we will do our best to wrangle the evening’s offerings into a pleasing experience\, but due to the nature of these systems – nothing can be foretold. \nA/V artists will use Digital/Analog (hybrid) setups to express imagery and other creations through projection. Each artist has a unique and individual approach to the processes required to bring these visuals into the world. At the end of the night\, the systems will be united and the images and sound will live as one – again\, nothing can be foretold. \nOrganic Instrumentation  (Hand Drums / Flutes / Guitars / Etc) – Throughout the evening some traditional instruments may be included and used by artists to keep balance and provide a familiar structure to offerings of the evening. \nPlease be aware that if you are sensitive to flashing lights or unexpected sounds you are asked to use your best judgement in attending – the many offerings of the evening will be fraught with extremes and sweetness that cannot be planned for. \nTell a friend!

DESCRIPTION:Cathy (Otterson) Herndon has the unique ability to please audiences anywhere with her crystal-clear voice and refined touch at the piano. Cathy grew up in Strum\, Wisconsin where she learned to play several instruments as a child. During high school she was a member of the acclaimed musical group\, THE KIDS FROM WISCONSIN. After earning her degree in music on saxophone and clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire\, she spent several years as a professional woodwind player. While working as a saxophonist on a cruise ship\, she began singing in public for the first time. The sure phrasing and improvisational skills developed during her saxophone years can be heard in her singing today. Since beginning her solo career\, Cathy has been an innovator. Her tasteful addition of the synthesizer to the traditional solo piano sound must be heard to be believed. Countless times listeners in the next room have assumed they are hearing an elegant trio. They are always amazed when they find that it’s one person making so much beautiful music. After moving to the New York area in 1989\, Cathy became a prolific songwriter. Throughout her career\, many of Cathy’s fans request her original songs that are beautifully performed on her CD called\, FOR YOU MY LOVE\, nearly as often as the other great music she performs. Cathy’s talents have taken her to several corners of the world. For nearly two decades\, Cathy performed at the Rihga Royal Hotel and the Ritz Carlton-Battery Park in New York City. These experiences\, along with thousands of hours at the piano singing to discriminating audiences\, have molded her into a world class artist. Whether performing jazz\, Gershwin\, Porter\, Broadway favorites\, or the finest music of today\, Cathy has a graceful way of touching her audience\, leaving them with the feeling they’ve made a new friend.

SUMMARY:Late Night Jazz: Stuck On Blue
DESCRIPTION:Stuck On Blue is the musical partnership between Kelvin Kaspar\, Jake Crowe\, and Mike Malone. The trio\, formed by accident in 2015\, began after working together in various groups for nearly a decade. Their friendship and mutual respect for original music led each of them to contribute original works\, while collectively crafting songs into something new and special to this new group.  \nIn 2016\, they recorded and released their debut album\, Direct From The Source\, which was recorded live at The Source Public House in Menasha\, WI. Since then\, Stuck On Blue has been featured in various concert series across the state\, but still maintain a regular schedule of performing at plenty of settings in the Fox Valley. In 2022\, they began work on a new album\, with anticipation of releasing in the Fall.  \nFor fans of Pat Metheny\, Bill Frisell\, and John Scofield\, the timbre of Stuck On Blue is familiar\, but the group also brings a unique voice and interpretation of any song\, whether it’s original compositions\, timeless jazz standards\, or an instrumental twist of a pop song.
