DESCRIPTION:Join us in welcoming our new artist\, Jesse Blake Hay\, into The Gallery with the debut of his works\, “Reverie Collection”. \nArtist Statement: \n“My work depicts the dreamscape within me.  I blend common shapes and geometric themes with the stuff of my subconscious\, using bold colors and texture.  My hope is that my works are subjective enough to stir up sensibilities from your own subconscious as well.  Ultimately\, I want every viewer to find a personal meaning in the menagerie of gouache\, charcoal\, oil pastel\, chalk\, and acrylic on canvas.” \nArtist Bio: \nIt’s been a full circle odyssey for Jesse.  After growing up in Eau Claire\, he left in 2009 for what would become a 14 year lap around the US.  Now\, after spending time in Portland (OR)\, NYC\, Seattle\, Eureka (CA)\, and Austin (TX)\, he is back in his hometown with art in hand.  His modern abstract approach incorporates a variety of mixed media (oil pastel\, gouache\, acrylic\, chalk\, charcoal)\, predominantly done on canvas.  He currently lives and does his work on Grand Ave. \nView works and more on Jesse’s website.

Traditional instrumentations will be showcased alongside synthetic and experimental instruments\, all while world class Visual Synthesists project their art on The Lakely Stage in curious and dynamic ways for all to see! \nSpecial Guests of this Experience: \nALTRUIT \nEYEDUBS \nSHAWNA LEE \nJOHN C.S. KESTON \nCHRIS LEBLANC \nJEREMY & MAX YLVISAKER \nDonations will be accepted during the event to benefit the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation Music Access Fund in support of students in the Eau Claire area. If you would like to make a donation in advance of the event\, you may do so by going HERE. \nThe Experience will include: \nSynthesis (Visual/Modular): A/V artists will use Digital/Analog (hybrid) setups to express imagery and other creations through projection. DESCRIPTION:The Blue Ox Jazz Trio is a Twin Cities based professional jazz ensemble that performs frequently in and around the metro area. Since their beginning in late 2020\, the Trio has frequented Herbie’s on the Park\, KJ’s Hideaway\, the late Black Dog\, and MetroNOME Brewery\, among others. The trio performs frequently at senior living communities\, and to date has presented over one hundred retirement performances. The group recorded their first album in 2021 and recently released their second in 2023. They have recently recorded their third album\, set to be released in the summer of 2024.

DESCRIPTION:Kate Voss & The Hot Sauce features award-winning vocalist/bassist Kate Voss. With a flair for vintage style\, this high energy band performs a range of styles from Hot Club\, to Western Swing\, to Blues\, originals\, and hits from the 50’s & 60’s. Originally from Seattle\, WA she is a MUST see\, dressed to the nines\, bouncing her brilliant\, bright voice on the microphone and creating an energy that has the entire room dancing!\n\nBio:\nHailing from the Emerald City\, Kate Voss got her start in the club scene in Seattle playing with a variety of groups on piano. When her jazz studies were nearing an end\, her musical interests could not be pinned down to a single genre and her teacher assigned her the title of “dilettante”. Luckily for us all\, that only inspired Kate to further explore other avenues for making music and ultimately brought her to form Kate Voss & The Hot Sauce which encompasses all the genres she loves. A true variety band\, this act pulls from her varied background of jazz\, blues\, pop\, country\, western-swing\, oldies\, americana and rockabilly. As a full-time musician\, Voss has cultivated a stage presence that charms and delights folks and a voice that “Nails the authenticity of the era” (JazzTimes) with tunes from Brenda Lee to Nancy Sinatra and Patsy Cline to Ray Charles. Kate has been awarded “Vocalist of the Year” and “Ensemble of the Year” from Earshot Magazine and after her move to Wisconsin in 2021\, was nominated for several WAMI awards including Female Vocalist of the year\, Instrumentalist of the year\, and Free Reed Player of the Year. As leader of this band\, Kate sings lead vocals\, plays the Ukulele Bass\, and occasionally plays melodica while staying true to her one rule in this band: Kate says “We only play songs I love.”

DESCRIPTION:The Swongos are a three piece instrumental Surf Band from the St. Croix River Valley on the Minnesota/Wisconsin border. In addition to Surf Music\, they have many styles of music such as Spy\, Exotica\, and Indie Rock sprinkled in their songs and sound. The Swongos are influenced by traditional surf music like Dick Dale and the Ventures but also groups such as the Pixies\, and Los Cubanos Postizos. He has released 7 CDs of original music in a genre best described as\, “Fun-Loving\, Sunny-Day\, Acoustic Music” and has traveled throughout the country playing in a wide variety of venues. Matt’s live shows feature vocals\, acoustic guitar\, harmonica and an occasional ukulele. Recently\, Matt has added the piano to his musical repertoire playing some of his original music and a few piano favorites. \nFireside Tunes is held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and autumn on The Lakely Patio from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. Tyler is involved with a variety of musical projects around the Chippewa Valley including his own quintet the Tyler Lustek Confluence\, avant-garde jazz duet Lustek / Granros\, piano/cello duet Duo Vivace\, and the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra. Tyler is also co-director of the jazz combo program at UW-Eau Claire\, and teaches weekly improvisation workshops at Chippewa Falls High School.

DESCRIPTION:Cathy (Otterson) Herndon has the unique ability to please audiences anywhere with her crystal-clear voice and refined touch at the piano. Cathy grew up in Strum\, Wisconsin where she learned to play several instruments as a child. During high school she was a member of the acclaimed musical group\, THE KIDS FROM WISCONSIN. After earning her degree in music on saxophone and clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire\, she spent several years as a professional woodwind player. While working as a saxophonist on a cruise ship\, she began singing in public for the first time. The sure phrasing and improvisational skills developed during her saxophone years can be heard in her singing today. Since beginning her solo career\, Cathy has been an innovator. Her tasteful addition of the synthesizer to the traditional solo piano sound must be heard to be believed. Countless times listeners in the next room have assumed they are hearing an elegant trio. They are always amazed when they find that it’s one person making so much beautiful music. After moving to the New York area in 1989\, Cathy became a prolific songwriter. Throughout her career\, many of Cathy’s fans request her original songs that are beautifully performed on her CD called\, FOR YOU MY LOVE\, nearly as often as the other great music she performs. Cathy’s talents have taken her to several corners of the world. For nearly two decades\, Cathy performed at the Rihga Royal Hotel and the Ritz Carlton-Battery Park in New York City. These experiences\, along with thousands of hours at the piano singing to discriminating audiences\, have molded her into a world class artist. Whether performing jazz\, Gershwin\, Porter\, Broadway favorites\, or the finest music of today\, Cathy has a graceful way of touching her audience\, leaving them with the feeling they’ve made a new friend.
