Matt’s live shows feature vocals\, acoustic guitar\, harmonica and an occasional ukulele. Tyler is also co-director of the jazz combo program at UW-Eau Claire\, and teaches weekly improvisation workshops at Chippewa Falls High School.

DESCRIPTION:Cathy (Otterson) Herndon has the unique ability to please audiences anywhere with her crystal-clear voice and refined touch at the piano. Cathy grew up in Strum\, Wisconsin where she learned to play several instruments as a child. During high school she was a member of the acclaimed musical group\, THE KIDS FROM WISCONSIN. After earning her degree in music on saxophone and clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire\, she spent several years as a professional woodwind player. While working as a saxophonist on a cruise ship\, she began singing in public for the first time. The sure phrasing and improvisational skills developed during her saxophone years can be heard in her singing today. Since beginning her solo career\, Cathy has been an innovator. Her tasteful addition of the synthesizer to the traditional solo piano sound must be heard to be believed. Countless times listeners in the next room have assumed they are hearing an elegant trio. They are always amazed when they find that it’s one person making so much beautiful music. After moving to the New York area in 1989\, Cathy became a prolific songwriter. Throughout her career\, many of Cathy’s fans request her original songs that are beautifully performed on her CD called\, FOR YOU MY LOVE\, nearly as often as the other great music she performs. Cathy’s talents have taken her to several corners of the world. For nearly two decades\, Cathy performed at the Rihga Royal Hotel and the Ritz Carlton-Battery Park in New York City. These experiences\, along with thousands of hours at the piano singing to discriminating audiences\, have molded her into a world class artist. Whether performing jazz\, Gershwin\, Porter\, Broadway favorites\, or the finest music of today\, Cathy has a graceful way of touching her audience\, leaving them with the feeling they’ve made a new friend.

Born and raised in towns around the Midwest\, Ryan was always surrounded by music. He grew up listening to a wide range of artists\, from classic folk singers John Prine and Paul Simon to indie rock acts like Wilco and Fleet Foxes. \nRyan’s music is a reflection of his diverse musical influences and his love for poetry and storytelling. His lyrics are both introspective and observational\, exploring the world he sees around him and all its intimacy\, joy\, and sorrow. He combines intricate guitar and banjo work with shifting arrangements and his soulful voice to make a whole that’s alternately driving and comforting. \nSince 2019\, Ryan has released an EP and full-length album\, building a loyal fan base in Chicago and beyond. DESCRIPTION:Join us each week on Tuesday nights as we feature Clear Water Comedy Open Mic Night with a plethora of entertainment and experiences\, from musicians and comedians to improv and spoken word — anything goes\, and you never know what (or who!) you might see or hear! Both established and emerging artists in the Chippewa Valley are encouraged to perform! \nEach week\, a different artist will host the evening\, and lead off the program with 20-30 minutes of their own work. Following this performance\, open mic begins. Whether it is music\, comedy\, sketch\, live readings\, poetry\, acting\, improv- all are welcome! \nEVENT DETAILS: \n– Artists will perform on The Lakely Stage\n– Showtime is at 7:00 pm\n– Everyone is welcome\, and the show is free to attend (but please come thirsty!) \nPERFORMER DETAILS: \n– Artists will perform on The Lakely Stage\n– Sign-ups begin at 6:30 pm (must be present to sign up – no phone calls\, no friend sign up\, etc.)\n– Sign up is first come first serve- order is determined by the host. DESCRIPTION:Returning to The Lakely Patio is everyone’s favorite patio performance\, dubbed Fireside Tunes\, is meant to capture the essence of some of our most-loved experiences – spending the evening outside on The Patio with folks we care about\, listening to live music in a down-to-earth\, low-key (but high-vibe) atmosphere\, sipping craft drinks\, and sharing a love of music – all around our stone-cut fire pits. \nBarstool Bandit is a dynamic\, Minneapolis-based\, acoustically driven group ready to bring old and new tunes to the party! We take any song and add our style\, voices\, and flare to bring together a cool mixed bag of set lists \nAt Fireside Tunes\, you can expect an emotive musical experience of local\, regional\, and occasionally touring artists with a strong lean towards acoustic\, folk\, and Americana styles. Fireside Tunes offers listeners a well-rounded sound\, with occasional notes of indie\, rock\, and other musical genres. \nFireside Tunes is held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and autumn on The Lakely Patio from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. In the event of inclement weather\, Fireside Tunes will move inside to The Lakely Stage. SUMMARY:Late Night Jazz: Cathy Herndon
DESCRIPTION:Cathy (Otterson) Herndon has the unique ability to please audiences anywhere with her crystal-clear voice and refined touch at the piano. Cathy grew up in Strum\, Wisconsin where she learned to play several instruments as a child. During high school she was a member of the acclaimed musical group\, THE KIDS FROM WISCONSIN. After earning her degree in music on saxophone and clarinet at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire\, she spent several years as a professional woodwind player. While working as a saxophonist on a cruise ship\, she began singing in public for the first time. The sure phrasing and improvisational skills developed during her saxophone years can be heard in her singing today. Since beginning her solo career\, Cathy has been an innovator. Her tasteful addition of the synthesizer to the traditional solo piano sound must be heard to be believed. Countless times listeners in the next room have assumed they are hearing an elegant trio. They are always amazed when they find that it’s one person making so much beautiful music. After moving to the New York area in 1989\, Cathy became a prolific songwriter. Throughout her career\, many of Cathy’s fans request her original songs that are beautifully performed on her CD called\, FOR YOU MY LOVE\, nearly as often as the other great music she performs. Cathy’s talents have taken her to several corners of the world. For nearly two decades\, Cathy performed at the Rihga Royal Hotel and the Ritz Carlton-Battery Park in New York City. These experiences\, along with thousands of hours at the piano singing to discriminating audiences\, have molded her into a world class artist. Whether performing jazz\, Gershwin\, Porter\, Broadway favorites\, or the finest music of today\, Cathy has a graceful way of touching her audience\, leaving them with the feeling they’ve made a new friend.
