DESCRIPTION:An Eau Claire native\, Emily has been an active part of the Chippewa Valley music scene for more than a decade. She performed for four semesters with the Grammy-nominated University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble I\, which earned a DownBeat Award for Best Undergraduate College Big Band\, and has played guitar with the Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra since 2012. A versatile musician\, Emily performs across jazz\, funk\, folk\, blues\, classical\, and rock\, and since 2018 has served as the guitarist\, booking manager\, and co-arranger for the award-winning variety band Uncommon Denominator. She has also played in pit orchestras for nearly 30 musicals\, including a season with Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Colorado. In addition to performing\, Emily is a dedicated educator with nearly ten years of private teaching experience\, offering guitar\, ukulele\, and beginner bass lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. \nSue Orfield has been playing the saxophone for close to 40 years\, with the last 10 or so right here in the Chippewa Valley.

From soothing acoustic sweetness to screaming metal solos he is unafraid to challenge the status quo with his “be yourself” attitude towards musicianship. Aaron began his pursuit writing unique acoustic arrangements of classic songs from across the musical spectrum. In time he began composing his own music drawing inspiration from bands like Death Cab for Cutie\, Tenacious D\, and Iron Maiden. DESCRIPTION:Little Way is a duo composed of husband and wife Braedon and Kayla Hoecherl. We play country music and believe good words and truth matter more than pristine production. We play a mix of well-known songs\, new and classics. From artists like Willie Nelson\, Alabama\, and Garth Brooks to Zach Bryan\, Tyler Childers\, and Chris Stapleton. We throw in some of our unique preferences as well\, including Flatland Cavalry\, Muscadine Bloodline\, and Charles Wesley Godwin. We’re not about perfection\, so you’ll hear our little mistakes and unrefined techniques. At least we can say it’s real. Music has been a part of our lives for quite a long time. We met at a summer camp where we have played in the band for years. Braedon has played music for 10+ years\, and Kayla has played for many years as well. We record music in our small home studio tucked away in the northwoods of Wisconsin.

He’s been making music in this area for over twenty-five years\, and other parts of the state before that. He has several CDs full of original music\, available on all of the usual streaming sites. Jim’s shows consist of singer/songwriter tunes in the spirit of such musical heroes as: John Prine\, Neil Young\, Bob Dylan\, and many more lesser-known folksingers. You’ll also hear a healthy smattering of original songs and stories that fit in well with the cover songs. Expect a relaxed evening of good times and good tunes!

Now in its fourth year\, Davis’ Christmas Extravaganza has continued to grow and is expected to feature as many as 50 musicians…” – Tom Giffey\, Volume One \nWhile that first holiday performance stood as the beginning of the Christmas Extravaganza\, it also represented the beginning of Davis’ career in performance. Since then\, he has become a fixture in the Chippewa Valley’s entertainment scene\, known for his inventive arrangements\, collaborative spirit\, and commitment to nurturing local talent. As a pianist\, Davis blends traditional swing with modern harmonic language\, drawing influence from artists like Bill Evans\, Keith Jarret and Ryo Fukui. \nIn 2022\, Davis founded Artem Entertainment\, an Eau Claire–based organization dedicated to supporting live performance\, artistic collaboration\, and community-based production. Under his direction\, Artem has curated events ranging from intimate jazz nights to large-scale showcases\, bringing together musicians across genres and generations. \nDavis continues to perform regularly while composing original work\, directing ensembles\, and mentoring young artists. His efforts reflect a deep belief in the transformative power of music and its role in building sustainable creative culture in smaller communities.
