Send us a message at Events@TheOxbowHotel.com \nWyatt Thomson possesses a voice that echos the soundscapes of the dance halls\, supper clubs\, and road houses that still litter the landscape of his home in the Chippewa Valley of Wisconsin. \n​Citing Tom Waits as his biggest influence\, it’s safe to say that Thomson (Like Waits) seems to have skipped right over decades of music that might have otherwise changed his sound for the worst. \nOne of Thomson’s biggest appeals is that he sounds like an artist transported from the 1950’s honky tonks of the Midwest\, and dropped off into the second decade of the 21st century unscathed by the worst aspects of pop country\, pop music\, and an industry forever changed by technology. \nNot unlike a character from a Roger Miller song\, Thomson has the bona fides of working pawn shops\, odd jobs\, and scraping by in the rust belt landscape of NW Wisconsin. As a result\, he’s gained the street wise and cynical wisdom that is earned young from such a life. \nThe world may press onward with its insane pace\, but Thomson ambles along with a casual confidence and story telling tales that feel like they’re ripped from old paperbacks in a truck stop\, or found in some lost postwar beatnik manuscript.

DESCRIPTION:Jim Nelson is a local singer songwriter who likes to think of himself as a “Country-Folk-Americana-Bluegrassy Guitar Picker.” Jim is a retired Elementary School teacher\,  and a long-time player in the Chippewa Valley music scene. He’s been making music in this area for over twenty-five years\, and other parts of the state before that. He has several CDs full of original music\, available on all of the usual streaming sites. Jim’s shows consist of singer/songwriter tunes in the spirit of such musical heroes as: John Prine\, Neil Young\, Bob Dylan\, and many more lesser-known folksingers. You’ll also hear a healthy smattering of original songs and stories that fit in well with the cover songs. Expect a relaxed evening of good times and good tunes!

DESCRIPTION:Sliced Bread Jug Band plays fun\, funky 1920s & 30s vintage jug band music\, old-time blues and country\, and a bit of “jug-o-lated” rock-n-roll\, as well as our own only slightly demented original material.\nJug band music can be cantankerous and sometimes hilarious\, diversely armed with guitar\, uke\, the occasional banjo\, and a seemingly improbable array of homemade instruments. Including\, of course\, jugs. \nSliced Bread is a loose musical collective of approximately five (but who’s counting?) jug band aficionados and/or free range geezers. Our homes\, haunts\, and hangouts are strewn across a wide swath of the Chippewa Valley and Lake Pepin region of Western Wisconsin (what we call the “Greater Rockanstock” area). \nWe’ve been playing together in one form or another for 20+ years now. DESCRIPTION:Fletcher Myhre is currently a third year Music Education major at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he studies percussion under Dr. Jeffrey Crowell. Within the University\, Fletcher performs as a part of the Grammy Nominated Jazz Ensemble I\, Wind Symphony\, Symphony Orchestra\, Percussion Ensemble\, and numerous jazz combos. While at UWEC he has also had the privilege to direct Jazz Ensemble IV. Along with his involvement within the University\, Fletcher is an active gigging musician\, playing around Eau Claire with groups like the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra and Chippewa Valley Jazz Orchestra\, and also plays in the Twin Cities. Additionally\, he teaches drum lessons locally at Morgan Music. Outside of music\, he enjoys spending time outside\, visiting local thrift stores\, bouldering\, and reading.

Grab a craft cocktail and get ready to lean in and listen. \nDustin DeGolier is a guitarist and vocalist serving greater Northwest Wisconsin. With over 20 years of professional experience\, he maintains a busy schedule performing both solo and with a variety of groups spanning jazz\, rock\, country\, blues\, and original music. His solo shows incorporate introspective originals alongside an eclectic blend of jazz\, classic R&B\, and pop\, from Duke Ellington and The Beatles to Bill Withers and Neil Young. In addition to performing\, Dustin teaches private guitar lessons at the Dancing Bird Art Studio & Music Shop in Cumberland and serves as guitar instructor for the Shell Lake Arts Center’s annual Rock Band Camp. He holds a BFA with emphasis in jazz guitar from UW-Milwaukee.

DESCRIPTION:Lakely Limited is a series of live performances and special engagements at The Lakely\, carefully chosen to create distinct nights of music\, atmosphere\, and connection. When you see this special designation\, expect an experience that’s designed to be savored\, and an event that’s worth planning for. \nLittle Way is a duo composed of husband and wife Braedon and Kayla Hoecherl. We play country music and believe good words and truth matter more than pristine production. We play a mix of well-known songs\, new and classics. From artists like Willie Nelson\, Alabama\, and Garth Brooks to Zach Bryan\, Tyler Childers\, and Chris Stapleton. We throw in some of our unique preferences as well\, including Flatland Cavalry\, Muscadine Bloodline\, and Charles Wesley Godwin. We’re not about perfection\, so you’ll hear our little mistakes and unrefined techniques. At least we can say it’s real. Music has been a part of our lives for quite a long time. We met at a summer camp where we have played in the band for years. Braedon has played music for 10+ years\, and Kayla has played for many years as well. We record music in our small home studio tucked away in the northwoods of Wisconsin.

Dylan is known for hosting a circuit of open mics & jam sessions that are staples for the music community in Wisconsin’s Driftless region.
