DESCRIPTION:A romance depicted through the Art of Music\nIn 2000\, Shannon and Jason Gilmore embarked on their musical journey\, sharing the stage with The Old Dog Band in Colorado Springs. Their friendship was forged through Shannon’s vocals and Jason’s mastery of the guitar and mandolin. Despite Shannon relocating to California in 2005\, their connection endured\, while Jason continued to explore his musical path\, contributing to various bands in the Colorado Springs area. By 2016\, Shannon returned\, engaging in the local music scene and taking ownership of a significant music venue. More than a decade later\, Shannon and Jason rekindled their musical partnership\, spanning multiple genres and evolving their friendship into something deeper. This evolution led to the birth of The Gilmore Family Band in 2019. After a brief stint in Boulder\, CO\, the Gilmore’s ventured north to Wisconsin’s driftless plains in October of 2023\, embracing a new musical chapter and unveiling their debut album\, MESS THAT WE MADE. Marking another exciting turn in their ongoing adventures.

DESCRIPTION:Jane O’Neill cultivated her love for songwriting in the landscapes of the Midwest\, enveloped in the records that reverberated throughout her family home: John Denver\, Norah Jones\, and Bonnie Raitt to name a few. Growing up\, Sundays were dedicated to music instruction for the whole family\, a tradition that transformed ordinary dinners during the week into soulful music sessions. Being one of twelve children in her home\, Jane had a small symphony to practice with\, which nowadays has translated seamlessly to her ability as frontwoman of her band. Eventually she’d leave behind the shores of Lake Michigan\, which is an inspiration in much of her work\, for the charm of the Chesapeake Bay on the East Coast\, finding a home in the queer community in D.C. which is where she’s built her career in Americana. Her music resonates with a subtle longing for home though\, reflecting her sentimental spirit and the musical influences she grew up with. Described as “quietly confident Americana”\, Jane writes songs that tell universal tales of love\, self-discovery\, and resilience\, all nestled within a voice that upon first listen\, you’d swear belongs on the record shelf next to the greats. Her second EP\, self-titled\, released on March 22\, 2024\, and she is currently in the studio working on new tracks.

Come down and enjoy some rarities and other eccentricities from Sayles’s personal record collection where he’ll be digging into 45’s and LP’s. The evening will be broken up into three sets of music — hour one will be early string band & rare country music\, hour two will feature a variety of international music\, and the third hour will feature some of Sayles’s favorite LP’s and singles from Motown and R&B legends with some random rock & roll included. \nMatthew R. Sayles is a singer-songwriter\, multi-instrumentalist\, and founder of Philville Records\, an independent label he formed in 2000 in Marquette\, Michigan. Sayles also hosts the weekly open Mic night at the Lakely every Wednesday (except when he’s on tour)\, and has guest hosted as a DJ on The Old Dingy Jukebox (Ventura\, CA)\, a podcast that features deep cuts and obscure records from the deep wellspring of down home American Roots Music. \nSayles has toured nationally and internationally\, and has had the honor of performing with country\, bluegrass\, and western swing legends like Merle Haggard\, Dwight Yoakam\, Asleep at the Wheel\, Larry Sparks\, Doyle Lawson\, the Duhks\, Uncle Earl\, Hot Club of Cowtown\, members of Bob Dylan’s “Rolling Thunder Review” and a long list of other highly talented regional and national roots music performers. \nPhilville Records was located in Ventura\, CA from 2009-2019\, and is now based in Eau Claire\, Wisconsin. Sayles continues to write\, record\, and produce\, as well as perform with his latest project the Driftless Revelers\, Wyatt Thomson\, Kenny Hotopp\, the Ventura based Ventucky String Band\, and his California alt. country project the Detroit Sportsmen’s Congress. He also performs solo and does session work with Eau Claire\, Duluth\, Marquette\, Los Angeles\, Ventura\, Portland and Santa Barbara alt. country and roots music projects.
