The Swongos are influenced by traditional surf music like Dick Dale and the Ventures but also groups such as the Pixies\, and Los Cubanos Postizos. DESCRIPTION:Kate Voss & The Hot Sauce features award-winning vocalist/bassist Kate Voss. With a flair for vintage style\, this high energy band performs a range of styles from Hot Club\, to Western Swing\, to Blues\, originals\, and hits from the 50’s & 60’s. Originally from Seattle\, WA she is a MUST see\, dressed to the nines\, bouncing her brilliant\, bright voice on the microphone and creating an energy that has the entire room dancing!\n\nBio:\nHailing from the Emerald City\, Kate Voss got her start in the club scene in Seattle playing with a variety of groups on piano. When her jazz studies were nearing an end\, her musical interests could not be pinned down to a single genre and her teacher assigned her the title of “dilettante”. Luckily for us all\, that only inspired Kate to further explore other avenues for making music and ultimately brought her to form Kate Voss & The Hot Sauce which encompasses all the genres she loves. A true variety band\, this act pulls from her varied background of jazz\, blues\, pop\, country\, western-swing\, oldies\, americana and rockabilly. As a full-time musician\, Voss has cultivated a stage presence that charms and delights folks and a voice that “Nails the authenticity of the era” (JazzTimes) with tunes from Brenda Lee to Nancy Sinatra and Patsy Cline to Ray Charles. Kate has been awarded “Vocalist of the Year” and “Ensemble of the Year” from Earshot Magazine and after her move to Wisconsin in 2021\, was nominated for several WAMI awards including Female Vocalist of the year\, Instrumentalist of the year\, and Free Reed Player of the Year. As leader of this band\, Kate sings lead vocals\, plays the Ukulele Bass\, and occasionally plays melodica while staying true to her one rule in this band: Kate says “We only play songs I love.”

DESCRIPTION:The Blue Ox Jazz Trio is a Twin Cities based professional jazz ensemble that performs frequently in and around the metro area. Since their beginning in late 2020\, the Trio has frequented Herbie’s on the Park\, KJ’s Hideaway\, the late Black Dog\, and MetroNOME Brewery\, among others. The trio performs frequently at senior living communities\, and to date has presented over one hundred retirement performances. The group recorded their first album in 2021 and recently released their second in 2023. They have recently recorded their third album\, set to be released in the summer of 2024.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 30\, we invite you to experience with us a journey of expression\, instrumentation\, and improvisation. Join and witness ten unique audio and visual artists as they explore the cosmic flower\, dividing the evening with their talents and vision. Traditional instrumentations will be showcased alongside synthetic and experimental instruments\, all while world class Visual Synthesists project their art on The Lakely Stage in curious and dynamic ways for all to see! \nSpecial Guests of this Experience: \nALTRUIT \nEYEDUBS \nSHAWNA LEE \nJOHN C.S. KESTON \nCHRIS LEBLANC \nJEREMY & MAX YLVISAKER \nDonations will be accepted during the event to benefit the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation Music Access Fund in support of students in the Eau Claire area. If you would like to make a donation in advance of the event\, you may do so by going HERE. \nThe Experience will include: \nSynthesis (Visual/Modular): A/V artists will use Digital/Analog (hybrid) setups to express imagery and other creations through projection. Each artist has a unique and individual approach to the processes required to bring these visuals into the world. \nOrganic Instrumentation: (Hand Drums / Flutes / Guitars / Etc) – Throughout the evening some traditional instruments will be included and used by artists to keep balance and provide a familiar structure to offerings of the evening. \n***WARNING\, please be aware that if you are sensitive to flashing lights or unexpected sounds you are asked to use your best judgement in attending. \nThis event is FREE to attend and open to ALL AGES.
