FIRESIDE TUNES on The Lakely Patio: Ryan Burns

At Fireside Tunes, you can expect an emotive musical experience of local, regional, and occasionally touring artists with a strong lean towards acoustic, folk, and Americana styles. Fireside Tunes offers listeners a well-rounded sound, with occasional notes of indie, rock, and other musical genres.

Fireside Tunes is held on select Wednesdays throughout the summer and autumn on The Lakely Patio from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. In the event of inclement weather, Fireside Tunes will move inside to The Lakely Stage. This event is free to attend, but please come thirsty!

BIO:

Ryan Burns is a Chicago-based indie folk musician with a distinctive sound and captivating songwriting. Born and raised in towns around the Midwest, Ryan was always surrounded by music. He grew up listening to a wide range of artists, from classic folk singers John Prine and Paul Simon to indie rock acts like Wilco and Fleet Foxes.

Ryan’s music is a reflection of his diverse musical influences and his love for poetry and storytelling. His lyrics are both introspective and observational, exploring the world he sees around him and all its intimacy, joy, and sorrow. He combines intricate guitar and banjo work with shifting arrangements and his soulful voice to make a whole that’s alternately driving and comforting.

Since 2019, Ryan has released an EP and full-length album, building a loyal fan base in Chicago and beyond. He has also performed at some of the city’s most iconic music venues, including the Metro and House of Blues. Ryan’s live shows are known for their raw energy and emotional intensity, leaving audiences spellbound.

In addition to his own music, Ryan also plays with the Australian singer-songwriter Tom West, and Chicago bands Distant Brothers, Cat Mullins and the Holy Lonesome, and Musichigan.

With his unique sound and powerful message, Ryan Burns is poised to make a big impact on the indie folk scene and beyond.
