Tune-In Tuesday: Sliced Bread Jug Band

Sliced Bread Jug Band plays fun, funky 1920s & 30s vintage jug band music, old-time blues and country, and a bit of “jug-o-lated” rock-n-roll, as well as our own only slightly demented original material.
Jug band music can be cantankerous and sometimes hilarious, diversely armed with guitar, uke, the occasional banjo, and a seemingly improbable array of homemade instruments. Including, of course, jugs.

Sliced Bread is a loose musical collective of approximately five (but who’s counting?) jug band aficionados and/or free range geezers. Our homes, haunts, and hangouts are strewn across a wide swath of the Chippewa Valley and Lake Pepin region of Western Wisconsin (what we call the “Greater Rockanstock” area).

We’ve been playing together in one form or another for 20+ years now. We’re grizzled veterans of the legendary annual Minneapolis Battle of the Jug Bands, and we have graced (or bumbled about on) many area stages.
