Join DJs Will DeBlaey and Emily Watkins as they guide us through their extensive vinyl collections. Expect to hear 60s soul, contemporary funk, rock, country, and everything … but the 90s.
DJ Bio: Will DeBlaey (born 1997) and Emily Watkins (born 1996) are besties and musicians from Eau Claire who play together in several groups, including Uncommon Denominator.
Join us for a special pop-up edition of Vinyl Nights with DJ Brendon Hertz and special guest, Mabis!
Hertz and Mabis will spin a set that brings together neo soul sounds with classics and rarities. Put together over the last two years, the setlist reflects a period of transition and takes inspiration from the last line of a well-known Wendell Berry poem—“Practice resurrection.”
Bios:
Brendon Hertz has reinvented himself as a teacher, a meat truck driver, and a technology writer over the last decade and a half. There’s been one constant since 2005—a growing soul music record collection.
Mabis spins to please, so expect to hear a tune or two that you adore. His vinyl obsession and wide-ranging collection wouldn’t be possible without Revival Records.
Ashley will play music from the 60’s through today. Each hour I will highlight different artists from different decades that have made an impact on her and many others. Some artists will include: The Beatles, The Monkees, Blondie, Joy Division, New Order, and then more modern artists like Fleet Foxes, Alabama Shakes, LCD Soundsystem, The National, etc. Come check it out!
Ashley graduated from UW-Eau Claire in 2019 with a degree in Organizational Communication and German. She now is a barista at ECDC and behind the bar at The Lakely. When she’s not working, she enjoys live music, traveling, discovering new record stores, or hanging with her kitten, Vinny!
The Cook-Kats are a trio of female cousins that grew up in the height of 80’s and 90’s and love to spin any music that gets people up and moving or reminds them of their youth. Grab a drink and enjoy music selected by the night’s three DJs.
The Lakely offers Midwest comfort food and craft cocktails. The Lakely opens at 5pm for dinner and drinks. Reservations for dinner are appreciated, but not required.
